Cheers to 61 Years
Back in 1956, Mercedes-Benz Club of America founder and first National President Dr. Milton J. Allen embarked on a mission to connect with Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts across North America and provide an exceptional experience through services and products. His vision to grow the club was supported through a partnership with Daimler-Benz North America, which was just beginning to import Mercedes-Benz cars to the United States. For 1950s’ American M-B enthusiasts, the burgeoning MBCA was able to serve the needs of members with a better parts supply, accessible technical advice and more driving events.
Today, the club continues to provide exceptional service and events for the benefit of members. As in the beginning, the MBCA’s success can be attributed to strong partnerships that have expanded with the Mercedes-Benz Classic Center in Stuttgart and with MBUSA, Airstream, Hagerty Insurance and others in the United States.
And as from Day 1, our efforts would not be possible without committed volunteers who strive to provide extraordinary experiences for members to enjoy year after year: A heartfelt “Thank You” to those who dedicate their time to connect, participate and enjoy the activities all year.
Plan your 2018
After you purchase your raffle ticket for a chance to win a 2017 AMG GT R at raffle.mbca.org, I encourage you to begin planning your club activities for 2018. One of the can’t-miss events will be StarFest® 2018, the flagship event as the MBCA’s greatest national activity. Hosted by the Alabama Section, there will be various track events at both the Talladega and Barber tracks, rallies, tours of the MBUSI factory and a concours. All activities will be at the heart of Alabama’s racing heritage amidst the beautiful Alabama countryside.

As you read this column, the holidays will be upon us. Along with the very busy summer, we’ll have the opportunity to meet new friends and see old friends. As we do, our family grows – and MBCA membership becomes something much greater.
