Every once in a while a person needs to reflect on the past and enjoy the moment. I’m finding myself doing this as I write this column.

Time Flies

Working on the tasks for the day, week, month and year, I find myself constantly looking forward. What is it that needs to be accomplished today so we can move forward tomorrow? It can be challenging to simply sit back and relax with this kind of motivation, especially when the future is so bright.
However, every once in a while a person needs to reflect on the past and enjoy the moment. I’m finding myself doing this as I write this column.

Taking time to reflect on the past nine months since joining the Mercedes-Benz Club of America team, I think about the people I’ve met, the friendships that have formed and the successes of the many summer club events, activities and programs.

Here are two highlights from the club’s summer activities so far.

2015 Spring Raffle

How often do you get the chance to award such a fabulous prize like a 2016 Mercedes-AMG GT S? I had the great privilege of sharing the announcement with the MBCA National Business Office team to the raffle-drawing winner, Doug Rowan. One can only imagine what it would feel like to receive a call like this, unless of course you’re Doug. We are working on the 2015 Fall Raffle, so you will have another chance to join the MBCA raffle winners’ circle.

StarTech 2015

It was a pleasure to meet the committee members who organized StarTech, hosted by the Cincinnati Section, and the many members who attended this year’s event. The weekend kicked off with a great Show and Shine showcase followed by an MBUSA-sponsored welcome party hosted at the Mercedes-Benz Diamond Club at the Great American Ball Park. Saturday was filled with technical sessions followed by a great Saturday evening reception. The entire weekend was a great success and kudos to the Cincinnati Section for hosting such a successful, well-attended event.

I’m looking forward to joining members at both the upcoming Legends of the Autobahn and Gemütlichkeit events, which by the time this column is published, will have taken place.

As a very busy summer winds down, I encourage you to reflect on the MBCA activities you’ve enjoyed and share them. Share them with your local section members, social media and other outlets. I also invite you to share them at the club’s Facebook page,
