We all share a common passion for Mercedes-Benz, and for this club. So, now’s the time for us all to find ways to engage with each other to become a community again.

Finally! It’s Spring again! The calendar says so anyway, and in northeast Indiana, I have hyacinths, daffodils and day lilie shooting up green sprouts all over my landscape beds. That joyous rebirth of Spring can only mean one thing: it’s time to put the top down on the car and take a drive.

It’s been a long, painful year. We’ve missed some great events, lost some wonderful people, postponed travel and trips to visit dear friends, and spent way too much time sitting at home. But now that the vaccine is being distributed at a rate even faster than promised – and hope is spreading faster than that – we’re cautiously starting to make those plans again. And just like a rebirth, events are once more showing up on the calendars and notices are going out (without the word “Cancelled” at the top). But now is not the time to get complacent. Make those plans, but be sure they include ways to keep everyone safe. The last thing we want to do is take a giant step backwards and lose the progress we’ve so painstakingly gained recently. Keep following the CDC and local guidelines and we can still find ways to gather together and be a community once more.

Need some ideas? Certainly as the weather gets nicer, we will all want to take a drive. Rallies, poker runs and scavenger hunts are great ways to get people engaged, see the countryside, and maybe ignite a little competitive spirit. Maybe there will be an outdoor concert in your area. Or maybe just a caravan to a nice outdoor location to have a picnic. Everyone can pack their own chairs, coolers and food, and set up socially distanced at the location, but still be able to converse and interact for a while. You get the idea. Find ways that you can be together without putting people at risk.
