Adhering to the motto “The Best or Nothing” takes more than just being a top-selling Mercedes-Benz dealer: It takes a team that builds relationships with customers and the community at large. The staff at Euro Motorcars Bethesda does that on a daily basis. While the Euro Motorcars Group of dealerships has grown to cover two states and a variety of different brands, its beginnings are at the Bethesda dealership that started, like many longtime Mercedes-Benz dealers, selling Studebakers in the 1950s, evolving to a stand-alone Mercedes-Benz dealer in the 1970s.

The Bethesda dealership offers a choice of 500-plus new and Certified Pre-Owned Mercedes-Benz vehicles, boasts 70 service bays and a fully stocked parts department. It also has an offsite body shop and Sprinter service facility and works closely with these other locations to serve customers along the mid-Atlantic coast and beyond. The Bethesda location is one of the largest Sprinter truck sales and service operations in the area, as well as a top-selling AMG Performance Center.

Euro Motorcars’ Bethesda, Maryland, location is one of the keys to that success, though the dealership staff is the single greatest factor customers identify as the reason they continually return to do business with the dealership. Euro is a dealership that supports the population of the nation’s capital, selling world-class vehicles and continually ranking highest in sales volume, competing against nine other Mercedes-Benz dealerships in the Washington, D.C., market. It helps that in this internationally focused market, Euro’s employees are fluent in several languages including German, Spanish and others such as Tagalog.

While selling a high-end product is important, it is the employees who establish and develop the customer relationships that are key to a successful business: People do business with people they trust. Euro has long had a program of bringing bright young people into the automotive business, providing them mentorship and professional training to develop their careers in the industry. This includes several Mercedes-Benz Club of America members who have begun working at this very dealership; some have moved on to careers in other industries while a number continue to work within the dealer group to this day.

While sales department staff are the people customers see and deal with, it’s the service department in an auto dealership that keeps them coming back. The Euro Service Department includes both male and female technicians who are always in training with the latest tools and techniques to provide top-level service to their customers. The dealership is quite proud of several father-and-son teams that have built a family legacy rooted in the craft of automotive repair. Recruiting and developing new technical staff is key to building any auto-service business. Euro has found that working with local trade schools to find and train technical talent has been a main strategy for the dealership’s continued growth in its service business.

Euro Motorcars has been long invested in the MBCA, supporting the Greater Washington Section and its activities at local, regional and national levels. They host members for special club events, including an annual Mercedes-Benz High-Mileage Certification and Service Clinic, held for the last five years in the service department, celebrating MBCA members and their higher-mileage Mercedes-Benz vehicles, and introducing members to Euro’s team of technicians and service professionals.

But a dealer’s business is more than selling products and services to customers. Cultivating and expanding client relationships is integral to business growth. Euro Motorcars Bethesda’s customers continually refer their friends and colleagues to buy and service their Mercedes-Benz vehicle at Euro because their experience with the dealership meets or exceeds their expectations time and time again. Mercedes-Benz Club of America members benefit from their long-standing relationship with Euro Motorcars and look forward to it flourishing in the years ahead.

Personal relationships are key at Euro Motorcars: Here at a recent Greater Washington Section event at the dealership,  Euro Motorcars customer-service representative Eddie Santos checks out the cars of members Ed Vaugh, Greg Burks and Tim Nagle.
