Looking for Positive Change

Happy New Year, and welcome to 2021. For obvious reasons, many would say good riddance to 2020. However, minus the pesky pandemic, we’ve made some good strides.

The help of Paul Devers, member of Northwest Ohio and International Stars sections and owner of Vin Devers Autohaus of Sylvania, paved the way to solidify the MBCA US Member Rebate program. The program offers significant discounts, up to $6,000 off a new lease or purchase of a Mercedes-Benz. Thank you, Paul, for starting the conversation that landed a great partnership with MBUSA.

The MBCA National Board is embracing the Club’s strategic planning process. Although delayed, it’s back on track, and we’re in a pivotal position to establish a sustainable future. The strategic plan will be crucial for estabilsining the future of the Club.

Sixth Lap

It’s crazy how quickly time passes. October marked the sixth year of serving the Club as Executive Director, and I have the privilege to continue to work with many amazing volunteers and team members every day.

The past three years have been incredible. I get the privilege of working with many amazing volunteers and team members every day. I also enjoy the opportunity to meet our members at various events.

This year during the National Board meeting, we welcomed some new leaders who joined the board and bid farewell to others who have served their term. A shout out to Cliff Reyle, Past National Secretary, Rodd Masteller, Past Great Lakes Regional Director, and Masood Kahn, Past National Director at Large.

A special thank-you goes out to Cliff Reyle. His contribution reached far beyond the National Secretary role. Cliff’s in-depth expertise with nonprofits and high-level executive knowledge yielded movement the Club direly needed. Cliff, thank you for your years of service and the positive impact you made on the future of the Club.

The Executive Committee possesses a wealth of experience and knowledge. Welcome back Julie Bruggner, National President, and Steve Ross, National Vice-President. Welcome Charles Wood, National Treasurer, and Joe Grattan, National Secretary, to leadership. The incoming committee has its work cut out for them, but this group has the capacity to help lead MBCA long into the future.

As we enter the new year, the new Executive Committee and National Board are positioned well to set the future tone for the Club. As the automotive and membership organization industries shift, car clubs are obligated to adapt to meet member expectations.
